About

Spectrum Vocal Band is a five-member Bulgarian a cappella group with a unique style and approach to vocal music. Their performances are exciting and moving, showcasing elegant and beautiful vocal harmonies. The group's repertoire crosses boundaries between pop, jazz and traditional Bulgarian folk music, thus creating a fresh and distinctive sound. Since its foundation in 2012 the group has performed at some of the most notable stages in Bulgaria, such as the National Palace of Culture, Bulgaria Hall, and Bulgarian National Radio. Spectrum appeared at major jazz, classical, choral and contemporary arts festivals all over Bulgaria, their concerts often broadcast by national radio and television stations. They also had huge success with audiences abroad, as they played at major jazz and choral music events in Nis, Novi Sad (Serbia), Berlin (Germany) and Luxembourg. In April 2023 the group had its first tour across the Atlantic, performing concerts in five cities in Canada.

The five singers have had productive collaborations, both live and in studio, with some of the finest Bulgarian jazz, classical, folk and pop musicians, such as Theodosii Spassov, Eva Quartet, Hristina Beleva, Orlin Pavlov, Lyubomir Denev, Antoni Donchev, FSB, and the Big Band and the Symphony Orchestra of the BNR.

In 2018 Spectrum were invited to be the opening act for the Manhattan Transfer at their concert in Sofia and were highly praised by the giants of vocal jazz. They worked again with Janis Siegel and Yaron Gershovsky as part of the duo's European tour in 2025. In 2019 the group released their debut album of original music called "Cross Point", and in 2021 their second album "Singerprints" came out. "Singerprints" is a beautiful collection of traditional and original tunes in Bulgarian folklore style, full of rich harmonies, haunting rhythms and vivid vocal colours. In February 2022 "Singerprints" was nominated for the prestigious Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA) in two categories – "Best Folk / World Album" and "Best European Album or EP". A few months later "Singerprints" won the highly regarded "Crystal Lyre", awarded by the Union of Bulgarian Music and Dance Artists.

Spectrum had a landmark year in 2026, taking their captivating sound to the global stage with performances at the Hong Kong International A Cappella Festival and Germany’s premier vocal festival, "Black Forest Voices" in Kirchzarten. Building on that momentum, in October 2026 the group released their highly anticipated new album, "Voices of Now". Among the featured artists on the album is Jon Smith from the GRAMMY® Award-winning vocal group The Swingles.

The five members of the group are all professional vocalists with rich experience in the a cappella, choral, vocal jazz and pop genres, sharing the mutual love of creating a unique and thrilling performance with nothing else but their voices. Spectrum Vocal Band are: Ivelina Tsoneva, Anna Yankova, Daniel Nikolov, Yanko Yankov & Konstantin Beykov.
